What is a specialisation?

We are referring to a specialisation within a particular field of study. According to current legislation (Real Decreto 861/2010, of July 2, modifying former Real Decreto 1393/2007, of October 29) by which official university studies are regulated, in section 3, article 9, it is highlighted that official Degrees may include specialisations in order to promote a more specific and professionally specialized training.

Therefore, specialisations, besides qualifying our students to become professional teachers, enable them to teach particular areas in Primary Education, such as Foreign Language, Physical Education, etc.

The curricular structure for specialisations must be as follows:

  • 12 ECTS corresponding to the courses defined for each itinerary.
  • 12 ECTS corresponding to internships, which must be related to the specialisation area.
  • 6 ECTS corresponding to the End-of-degree Dissertation, which must be related to optional courses and internships within the specialisation area.

Which specialisations are available in the degree in Primary Education?
