¿How it is to study in our Faculty of Health Sciences?

Our Faculty of Health Sciences clearly stands out from other Spanish faculties from the same field. It was the first one to offer the studies of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFD), and Human Nutrition and Dietetics (NHyD) as blended degrees. In addition, we are also pioneers in e-learning and health science research.

The official degrees of our Faculty of Health Sciences include different specialisation programmes in professional areas of high demand, such as the specialisations in Clinical Psychology, Education, Criminology, and Organizational Psychology of our Degree in Psychology.

Likewise, the teaching staff from our Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics are expert nutritionists. Thus, the internship programme allows you to work in real professional environments while being guided at all times by highly qualified teachers. Students can choose from different time options to do their internship, so they can select the moment that best suits them.

We not only stand out for our specialisation programmes, but also for our R&D modern centre opened in September, 2018. This research centre has laboratories to study nutritional assessment and body composition, molecular biology, microbiology, culinary technology and physical chemistry, anthropometrics, motor behaviour, exercise physiology and sports performance. This is the best place for your introduction to professional practice.

The interdisciplinary work developed in the field of research by the Faculty of Health Sciences at Universidad Isabel I is also worth mentioning. Our official research groups work side by side with other disciplines (nutrition, physical activity, psychology) to approach the study of health from a global perspective. This way, Universidad Isabel I is a health aware institution which promotes healthy lifestyle habits. It belongs to the Red de Universidades Saludables (REUS) by the Spanish university system.
